Oh the excitement when I realised that The White Company was coming to town. I just couldn’t wait for a chance to get on down there and check it out and thats exactly what I did today. When I visited the UK, The White Company was almost always on my list of go to places.
Located in a prime position on Grafton Street which fortunately is only about a 15 min walk from my place but unfortunately for my pocket as I might just be in there stalking out the place on a regular basis.
The White Company is a retail chain offering a beautiful range of clothes, furniture and home accessories. Think soft linen clothes, cashmere bed socks, crisp white bed linen, lush lounge wear and a whole lot more pretty pretty things.
As you enter there’s a beautiful range of linen clothing that takes you to a place where you could imagine kitting yourself out in a cotton kaftan top and chino shorts and taking a leisurely stroll on a quiet, long, sandy beach with the warm wind blowing in your hair.
But the main reason for my visit was to check out their homewares collection. Some of the range is downstairs like candle holders, picture frames, crockery, tableware. Lots of white with hints of wood for casual, chic and stylish living.
Upstairs is the bedding and bathroom collection – big white soft fluffy towels, crisp white bed linens, stunning pillow covers with embroidered trims. Beautiful bedframes loaded with white cushions. Adorable little jars for cotton wool and buds. Simple but stylish picture frames in very cute small sizes. I just want it all.
The real treat was the ‘Little’ White Company range of kiddies clothes, bedroom furniture and accessories. Previously I would have walked right past this section but together with my beautiful 4 month old daughter I picked up beautiful furry pink booties, cuddly white rabbits, oogled the beautiful range of baby bed linen, simply gorgeous clothes, pretty baby furniture and told baby Elsa that we would come back with Papa over the weekend 😉
Some of the pieces are a bit on the pricey side but then you have to weigh that up with the fact that they do offer quality products.
As for the staff – what a delight. Friendly, engaging, smiley, helpful and chatty. It is possible to get amazing staff and whether its done through smart recruitment or excellent training or both The White Company have nailed this.
Walking around this shop makes me smile. It’s a happy place because of all the beautiful things. Your surroundings can really effect how you feel and like I always encourage my customers to buy pieces that you love for your home. I will definitely be pointing my customers in the direction of The White Company and so happy that they are so close and I will be a frequent shopper there. The White Company is the perfect place for sourcing beautiful pieces and gorgeous gifts. xx
